Firstly let me say that our thoughts and prayers go out to our northern Caribbean neighbors, some of whom have lost their homes and livelihoods due to a very active hurricane season. We are doing all we can to support them through various relief efforts during this very difficult time. What we do know for sure is that the resilience and determination of the people who live on these Islands is stronger than ever as they rebuild and move forward.
We are certainly blessed here in Grenada to be under the hurricane belt and out of harm’s way as we watched Irma and Maria cut a path of destruction well to the north of us.
It has been a very busy summer here at Mount Cinnamon as we have welcomed guests from all parts of the world to enjoy the beautiful diversity and authenticity of Grenada in the comfort and boutique setting of our beautiful resort.
Demand has been strong for our new room category, Cinnamon Suites, and we have been thrilled with the guest feedback received. Everybody loves the contemporary design, the large rain head showers, Nespresso coffee machines, smart TV’s and amazing views from every room. Check out the website for some images- more to come!
August saw numbers on the Island swell as Grenada hosted Carnival. Many return guests and some first timers all partied together in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The event seems to get bigger and better every year.
Speaking about events, don’t forget to mark your calendars now for what is happening next year on the Island, including the annual Grenada Sailing Festival Work Boat Regatta February 3-4, 2018, the Carriacou Carnival on February 12, 2018, the 3rd annual Pure Grenada Music Festival April 13-15, the 8th Carriacou Maroon & String Band Music Festival April 27-29, 2018 and then the 5th annual Grenada Chocolate Festival May 11-19, 2018.
However, Christmas is just around the corner and we only have a few rooms left, so hurry and book now. We are always looking forward to this time of year as we welcome so many return guests. Please see our Christmas week program below.
Thank you to all who have visited our shores this year and we hope to see you again in 2018.
On behalf of the Mount Cinnamon team, I wish you all a happy and healthy festive holiday season and a prosperous New Year.
